R Marine Crawley and Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) Southport are celebrating the ongoing success of their marine radio safety training program. The partnership continues to empower boaters with essential VHF radio skills, with the most recent course graduating nine newly certified operators.



Course Benefits

The Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP) course includes:

  • Essential VHF radio operation skills: Gain confidence in routine and emergency communication.
  • Eligibility for an MMSI number: Unlock advanced radio features like AIS (Automatic Identification System) and digital selective calling.
