R Marine Crawley hosted its first radio license certification night at our boardroom, providing an evening of learning.
Our friends at VMR Southport provided expert training on making and receiving radio calls over VHF. 📻 All students passed their 25-question theory test, followed by a short practical component with flying colours and will now hold a Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency.
With this licence, Riviera owners can apply for an MMSI number for their vessel, which is necessary to transmit AIS information and enable the digital selective calling function on a radio.
Sue, one of our members, says, "Thanks for last night - we certainly did learn important tips in a relaxed environment."

Thank you to Volunteer Marine Rescue-Southport for providing the training.
