RMC Amity Jaunt: A Laid-Back Riviera Escape Through Moreton Bay
From Thursday April 3rd to Sunday April 6th, a fleet of 20 Riviera motor yachts came together for the RMC Amity Jaunt — a relaxed long weekend cruising Moreton Bay, connecting with familiar faces and enjoying simple moments on the water.
14 boats departed from Sovereign Islands, with Crusher (SUV 545) joining along the way. By the time we anchored at Myora on Thursday afternoon, the fleet joined Lady Soul, Yolo, Family Business, and Neva who were already anchored — bringing the full fleet together. With tenders in the water and an easy evening settling in, the scene was set for a great few days ahead.
Friday’s plan was to head to Straddie Brewing Co. for drinks and wood-fired pizzas, but a weather check called for a change. Before moving the group, Lady Soul and Yolo completed a quick recon of the anchorage near the restaurant. Instead of relocating the entire fleet, the decision was made to stay comfortably at Myora. Crusher took on the mission to collect 70 pizzas and bring them back to Myora from pickup point, Deanbilla — guests then tendered over to pick up the pizza’s straight from Crusher’s aft deck, turning the afternoon into a fun and light-hearted moment on the water.

Saturday brought the highlight of the trip — a perfect blend of sunshine, salt air, and great company. After a gentle morning cruise across the bay, the fleet dropped anchor off Amity, and guests made their way by tender to a sandbar only accessible by boat — a tucked-away spot in the middle of the bay that felt like our own private slice of paradise for the afternoon.
Two marquees were set up as a relaxed beachside base, and guests gathered on the sand to unwind, share a few laughs, and soak up the stunning surrounds. A generous spread of fresh prawns was laid out for everyone to enjoy, with a steady stream of guests coming and going between swims, snacks, and good conversation.
The atmosphere was light and easy, with music playing softly in the background and plenty of banter floating between tenders and towels. It was a classic RMC-style afternoon — relaxed, fun, and a reminder of just how good boating life can be when shared.
On Sunday morning, some of the fleet lifted anchor early, making a short move over to Peel Island for a quiet morning on the water. Meanwhile, Crusher (the 545 SUV) veered slightly off course, stopping in at Coochiemudlo Island Beach Bar and Grill after hearing good things about the spot. By midday, all vessels had rejoined as the fleet made its way south — wrapping up the weekend with an easy run home and a few final waves across the water.
