We absolutely had fun on our most recent RMC Experience, a short local getaway on the Gold Coast.

It was great to have some new members of the Riviera family along and enjoy the good times with other like-minded RMC boaties.

Special thanks to Southport Yacht Club for the wonderful space at Dux, South Stradbroke Island space.

On day one, the Riviera vessels departed from the top of Sovereign Islands en route to Dux anchorage and anchored up where the weather was so-so. After the rain passed, members tendered in to enjoy Dux from the shore, looking back at the boats as some owners met for the first time. That evening, some returned to their vessels while some used the BBQ facilities.

Day two began with breakfast at Tipplers Cafe with brekkie burgers and coffee. On returning to the boats via tender, we up-anchored and then pushed north for the swift passage to Millionaires Row, Jumpin Pin.

On arrival, we joined already anchored Riviera's who met us there, and the weather came out gloriously.

Some chose to use their Riviera swim steps, lazing in the water on anchor with a refreshment at the same time as when the fliteboards and jetskis came out to play.

Other RMC crew organised a meet on the beach for some owners to take a leisurely walk across to the eastern side of South Stradbroke Island to explore.

That afternoon the platter competition was staged underneath the RMC marquee on the beach as the brilliant weather continued to impress. Games were set up and the beach cricket was a hit, with many joining with the anticipation of hitting a six and out!

Drinks and refreshments saw us out until sunset, and the delicious platters members procured kept us gratified.

All in all, it was a very successful short local trip bringing those with a love of boating together and new friendships were formed within the Riviera family.
